The Ashleigh is a little more direct than the Pelham, making it an ideal compromise between a bridle and a Pelham.
Because of the offset of its lower leg, the leverage action is a little more direct.
Its action will of course vary according to the position of the reins between the upper and lower loop.
As a reminder, the lower the rein position, the greater the leverage. But you also have the option of adjusting and choosing the curb chain.
Thanks to its barrel that can be tilted up to 90°, the bit will always remain flat on the bars in the mouth, offering a wide contact surface while leaving room for the tongue to position itself.
The Ashleigh bit can be used direct, with four reins or with wedding rings.
