The Verdun bit from Metalab is to be used on a classic briddle. 

Indeed, the rings are D-shaped and do not slide on the barrels. 

It is a double snaffle bit with a half moon in the middle in addition to the 18mm rawhide barrels. 

The double break effect will relieve the horse's mouth from the pressure on the puck. 

The half moon will allow more room for the tongue which will allow a more fixed contact and more relaxation.
