Description

Stinging nettle is a perennial herbaceous plant that can be easily recognised by its serrated green leaves covered in stinging hairs.

Although it is often misunderstood, it offers numerous benefits.

This plant is a nutritional powerhouse, rich in vitamins (B, C, E, provitamin A), minerals, trace elements and essential amino acids.

With up to 40% of its dry weight made up of complete proteins, it is an exceptional source of nutrients for horses.

In addition to its nutritional properties, nettle stimulates the immune system thanks to its high antioxidant content and combats fatigue thanks to its high iron content.

It also acts as a natural diuretic, helping to drain the liver and the body.

However, it's important to note that nettle is renowned for its abortifacient effects and its impact on the menstrual cycle.

As a result, it is not recommended for use in pregnant and nursing mares without veterinary advice.
