This nose protector is not just designed to keep flies off horses' nostrils.

It's a paramedical answer to the concern of some owners who have horses that shake their heads a lot.

Indeed, academics have discovered that wind, rain and even air, by swelling the blood vessels in the nose, cause unbearable nerve irritation for the horse.
