Description

Lithothamnion, a seaweed that thrives in shallow seabeds, has bright red thalli in its natural habitat, but turns stone white when dried.

Its richness in minerals and trace elements makes it a valuable ingredient in equine feed.

Lithothamnion is an important source of minerals such as sodium, potassium, calcium carbonate, phosphorus and magnesium, as well as trace elements such as iodine, iron, silicon, zinc, copper, manganese, cobalt, chromium, selenium, fluorine, bromine, boron and molybdenum.

It also contains amino acids such as proline, lysine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid, as well as vitamin C.

This diverse composition gives lithothamnion beneficial properties for horses, such as bone mineralisation, support for energy metabolism, stimulation of the immune system and maintenance of healthy tissue.
